Sunday Sessions
Sunday Sessions is an on-going series dedicated to exploring surf along the California coast.
Check back often.
- Adam
- Newest member to the tribe. Malibu. June 2012.
- Grant Smith — DP Extraordinaire
- Getting real.
- Do they make square postcards? Cause if not, then that would be rad to do.
- Talk about an amazing location for a house. How’d you score that?
- 2nd point looking back.
- Look at this dumb dumb — Yours truly. Shwoods & Quality Peoples. Photo by @andyBHB

- Post surf meal. Life is good.
- Another friend from Syracuse. Following a similar dream.
- This frame makes me sick.
- I met Charles my freshman at Syracuse. His hair was shoulder length and my roommate and I thought he sold mushrooms. Boy were we wrong.
- Postcard: “Greeting’s from Malibu. All is well.”
- Il mio amore, mia bella
- This board was heading for the trash pile and I rescued it from the MADtv Set Dec department — The “Natural Art” was born. The year was 2006.
- Sunday Session as usual — The nature trail.
- Looking back, maybe it wasn’t such a hot idea to surf Malibu. Oh well, we scored.
- “They breached the lagoon last night, I wouldn’t surf here today if I were you. I surf here every day, but there’s no way I’m surfing it today. Too much bacteria in the water.” “Thanks for the tip. We’re just looking for our friend.” We surfed 2nd point to ourselves. 3-4′ choppy, yet fun conditions. Kyle got sick.
- Which would you choose?
- Kyle Newacheck shreddin the gnar
- Christian Hoffman — One of the raddest editors in Hollywood.
- Andy and Kyle shredding the gnar on their respective waves. Malibu. 2012.
- Larry Mable fish — My boss won this board at a Fox Eco Party auction in 2008. Knowing my passion for surfing, and given his lack of interest in surfing, he gifted the twin fin to me as a birthday present. Four years later and it’s still the go-to in my quiver.
- Shane’s last 2012 Sunday Session prior to his around the world trip.
- The water quality was shit, but the waves were fun. Malibu. June 2012.
- Drained the lagoon in preparation for construction.
- Doubled exposed walk to Gladstones. Sunset. 2012.
- Post-surf chill.
- A quick fin fix before our sesh.
